Where to get coconut cream?

Answered on October 21, 2015

Hi I was about to order some coconut cream from tropical traditions, but they were sold out of the big jars. Does anybody have another store to recommend who sells good coconut cream?

Thanks

Edit: Found this: http://paleohacks.com/questions/57574/where-can-i-find-coconut-cream#axzz1cPtWFZiZ

If anybody has something to add, please do :)

This stuff is awesome. Sometimes I just slice it and eat it as a snack when I have a sugar craving.

I bet it's hard to find a Rabbi in SE Asia.

Sure it is. This stuff is pretty solid. Plus it's pretty cheap.

I buy the Artisana as well, Whole Foods is easy for me to get to and has several different brands. Also any Health Food store. Looks like Amazon is really the only online source for a variety unless you go directly thru Tropcal Traditions.

I used to buy it from tropical traditions (coconut cream and coconut butter are the same thing) but the flavor and consistency of Artisana is so much better AND it's organic. I've heard it's about 10 bucks at Whole Foods but I don't have a store near me so I buy it from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Artisana-100%25-Organic-Coconut-Butter/dp/B000WV153I/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1319294859&sr=1-1

This is the stuff I get. If you want to turn it into milk just mix it up with hot water, and it can last a few days in the fridge.

But I found another thing you could do with it. Melt some extra virgin coconut oil and mix it up with this until it's smooth, you could also add a few tablespoons of cocoa powder and a bit of vanilla extract. It's awesome and keeps for about a week at room temperature, and it's perfect for mixing with coffee.

I've got the stuff on auto-ship. It's that good.

Artisana is at many Whole Foods. The Artisana company is in Sebastopol, California. And me? I am right here.

This is sold out right now too, but at $2.03 it's competitively priced. http://www.iherb.com/Edward-Sons-Organic-Creamed-Coconut-7-oz-200-g/39732?at=0

I liked the stuff called Savoy. Seems more pure than the others.

EDIT: I just googled it. Savoy brand is made by Arroy-D. It's the creamier version of their coconut milk.

Walmart sells a good canned coconut milk in their Asian foods section. No additives. It's a green can and the brand name is Star. Most of the cans I get are mostly cream instead of milk.

I have bought it in jars at health food stores and in blocks at oriental stores.
