Eating too much coconut butter?

Yesterday I bought a jar of Nutiva's Coconut Manna and today the jar is less than half. I eat it with Ezekiel raisin bread. This morning I had 5 slices of bread with coconut butter on each slice. It taste so good, but I am not sure if you can eat all the coconut butter you want or should limit it? I have a slight headache.

I also went through a phase of eating it straight. Eventually I realised I wasn't eating enough. After eating better I haven't had any for a while. By the way, eating a pure fat (that is itself slightly sweet) with raisin bread (something that might be very sweet) is going to be very palatable. Carb+fat combos might be difficult to not overeat on if you're undereating the rest of the time. I suggest looking at your overall diet....

Eating a lot of MCTs will probably make you tired. I feel like sleeping after consuming a lot of coconut.

No I am trying to lose weight, gain muscle. The is when I eat foods that are dense in fat I feel like I need some carbohydrates. And the coconut butter is kind of dry so.

Yeah I figured that the bread could be the culprit. Thanks for sending me the link I will be sure to check it out.

Thanks for answering my question, but I am not watching my caloric intake. I probably ate too much coconut butter because I felt a little tired or was it the carbs from all the bread I ate?

It does taste good, but Artisana Coconut Butter taste way better, but it is very expensive so I just stick with Coconut Manna when I want coconut butter.

I went through a coconut butter phase. Turns out, I was just hungry. Eat nutritious meals that satisfy and you won't want to eat many pure fats. That being said, it's probably not hurting you(unless you can tell it is) except that it doesn't contain a large array of nutrients. It sure can be helpful when you are traveling.

Alright, I will get rid of the Ezekiel bread and try sweet potatoes instead, thanks a lot :)

FYI: Ezekiel bread contains gluten. How on earth that's paleo, I don't know.

A jar of coconut manna has 3000 calories, so I'd be careful about consuming it at this pace.

Half a store bought jar? You can make your own. The bread is what is probably stimulating you to use a lot of coconut butter. Wheat is not paleo but if you want to eat it, sprout wheat berries at home and ferment it for 24 hours and bake your own bread. That would be the best way to minimize any harm.

Are you trying to lose weight? If so, probably not the best thing due to the calories. If you are trying to bulk up, then hey, might not be a bad thing. Beyond that, it's good to mix up foods as well to get different nutrient profiles.

Ezekiel bread is not Paleo, however if you aren't looking to be strict maybe you can get some organic white rice cakes to eat it with (if your body is cool with it).

You should probably try sticking to a paleo diet for a while, before reintroducing wheat products, if ever. As has been stated, your sprouted grain bread is still plain old bread - if just fancier, and more expensive. ;-)

If you really like your coconut butter, try it on other stuff. Who knows - maybe it's the bread that's making you over eat the butter.
