Coconut butter making me sick?

I am trying to heal my leaky gut with Paleo and a good naturopath. I haven't been tolerating nuts and seeds well, so I started eating coconut butter. It's delicious, but I think it's making my stomach hurt after I eat it. Has anyone else had this problem? I also didn't feel very good after I had coconut milk a couple weeks ago, but I assumed it was because it had guar gum in it (not good, I know, but I had it in the house and wanted to use it up). Coconut oil, flakes, and flour haven't caused me issues that I know of!

I just can't tell if it's the coconut butter or something else, that's why I would like to know if anyone else has had problems before.

from what i have 'seen' (around the web) some coconut products can 'disagree' with some people (same with a lot of things i guess).

ie. some people may do okay with refined coconut oil but not raw/virgin coconut oil.

interesting that you say you do okay with coconut flakes, 'cos you can make coconut butter by blending coconut flakes (needs to be a good/powerful blender). so may be its a 'serving size' thing in your case

...or a processing/production/brand(/ingredients) thing...

I saw somewhere when I was researching Paleo that for some reason if you have Type O Blood you can have some sensitivities to Coconut... I don't know if you are or aren't but if it's upsetting your stomach I'd say drop it... :)

if it bothers you, don't eat it. simple as that! why make yourself sick?
