December Holidays/ present ideas...

Thinking ahead to those homemade goodies I usually make for friends and neighbors...you know the ones...cookies, wine, fudge, etc... This year I would like to make something paleo-friendly, mainly because I will be trapped in the kitchen with the ingredients, and also because it'd be better for my loved ones.

Any ideas? I thought about Paleo nuts but that's all I could come up with so far...

If you can swing it, a Vitamix destroys everything you throw at it! At a lower price point, I've seen some positive things about the Ninja as well (read it on the internet so it must true).

Nut butters are a GREAT idea. I'm going to get all Williams-Sonoma on that shit.

Stay with the nuts and step it up to a gourmet paleo nut butter! A jar of homemade nut butter would be a fantastic gift (think cinnamon, honey, and some dark chocolate).

OR

For the carnivore in your life, do some paleo beef jerky (use the oven as makeshift dehydrator if you don't have access to one).

Bacon/egg "cupcakes"

There are tons of cookies you could make with coconut flour.

Pumpkin Ice Cream

Chocolate Zabaglione These are very elegant and damned tasty, and considering the chef, quite paleo. (You can use rum if you can't find the wine, but go easy on the sugar, you can also use a high quality baking chocolate instead of chips.)

Pumpkin pie can be quite paleo. The hard part is the crust, but you can make a very simple crust with just some coconut flour and butter. I know, you're supposed to use cold butter to make the crust, but it's a lot easier to just melt the butter and let it cool, then mix in some coconut and knead it and roll it into a sheet. You can also mix the pumpkin with coconut milk instead of condensed milk.
