I just had my cholesterol checked using a non-invasive skin cholesterol testing device at my pharmacy. This is not the same as a blood cholesterol testing. Has anyone heard of this or know the science behind it? The literature reads, "About 11% of the body's cholesterol is located in the skin. Cholesterol collects and builds up in the skin, just as it can build in the blood vessels. High levels of skin cholesterol are strongly associated with a high risk of coronary artery disease."
Clinical evidence can be seen at www.prevu.com
I am amazed that my cholesterol registered excellent through this device. A blood test 2 years ago showed I was a little above normal. I only started paleo 9 months ago.
Should I consider myself safe? Is this test reliable?
