Hack my cholesterol test results please

Hi, my doctor is alarmed because my test results are "abnormal." She wants me to come in for counseling (about diet) and in the meantime she gave me some handouts....the usual low fat, low red meat, low egg, high grain product recommendations that are completely opposite from the way I eat. So...I'm not going to bother with the "counseling" I have been about 98% Paleo for over a year. I'm 57 year old female if that matters. Here are my test results:

Total cholesterol 231

Triglycerides 68

HDL 72

LDL 145

VLDL 14

CHOL/HDL 3.2

The important ratios (Total/HDL, Trig/HDL, LDL/HDL) look perfectly fine. What about Vit D, nsCRP, A1C, etc?

I posted something similar about a month ago. In short, my results seemed great except for a high LDL (low trigs, good HDL etc.) but the high LDL which drives the total number up freaks out most docs.

I went to see a Paleo dietician afterwards and his advice was to titrate back some on the pure saturated fat (e.g. full fat dairy, 100% chocolate etc.) and do a bit of a ramp up on the fish and perhaps a tad of a scale back on the red meat (I was eating red meat, coconut oil, 100% chocolate etc. like it was going out of style). Lastly, that I should keep my fat content up, but swap get more monos and polys where I had pure saturated before. He wanted me to try to keep my really good HDL (85) and low trigs (39) but bring down the LDL, mainly because I want to get life insurance this year, not because he thought my total number was all bad. :)

My doc was clueless, we talked about my diet prior to my bloodwork and she said she totally understood, then when I got my results she gave me the same "this is unacceptable, eat more grains" speech, much to my chagrin.

I'm about a month or so into the changes, we'll see how my body and labs respond in a few months.

I'm not a doc, but from everything I've read on this website and in books etc, for being in your late fifties your results seem good.
