I have been predominantly on a Low Carb High PROTEIN diet for the past 2 years (with the once or twice cheat meals per week having beer, pasta, pizza, etc). I also started 5:2 intermittent fasting since Jan 2013.
I had 2 Lipograms while on the mostly LCHP/IF diet with results as below.
I am aged 32 and have high blood pressure 140/90 (with low dosage drug treatment) and my father suffered a heart attack and triple bypass at age 50 and also suffers high cholesterol/BP problems.
My question - is it safe to go on a Low-Carb High-Fat (LCHF) diet which - it seems - is known to increase my LDL further? (I do not think in South Africa, where I reside, I will have access to LDL particle size, advanced type blood tests)

Lipogram (Mar 2013) - (mmol/l | mg/dl):
LDL: 3.9 | 150
HDL: 1.6 | 62
Triglycerides: 1.4 | 54
Total: 6.4 | 247
