Dude. That's a lot of caffeine! Look for a pre-sweetened chocolate bar that also has a good deal of cocoa/shea butter, or even shit like maca, almonds, dried fruit, whatever your protocol calls for. That should help curb the crash afterwards.

in short, yet. Dark Chocolate consumption has been linked to both positive and negative mood swings.

it probably changes mood. i seem to feel better when i have chocolate with milk, but a lot of people here, maybe including you, avoid dairy.

Is it sweetened with sugar? I know I have a huge weakness for chocolate myself, but the sugary bars make me feel nauseous too, and aren't worth the money or the few moments of satisfaction.

On cheat days/once a week, I'll buy dark chocolate that is sweetened with stevia only. There's plenty on Amazon that are sugar alcohol free if you're concerned about FODMAPS. There's also dark chocolate brands that are mixed with Maca if you wanted a lower caffeine/chocolate content in general but still want that chocolate fix.

If you're eating sugar free chocolate, then it's more likely a sensitivity to the caffeine content. Or, as was also mentioned, sometimes it just tunes in dopamine receptors in a way that will lead to a mood swing.

Again, a good idea here would be to save it for cheat days or special days, where you can afford to feel crappy for a little while if you're willing to put up with it.

It does that to me too. Maybe due to having some small amounts of sugars. Unless it's unsweetened ( which to me is inedible by itself) it has small amounts. When I paleofy desserts I feel a little different in a negative way after eating them.
