Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess. Two princes desperately wanted to win over her love. The princess, sick and tired of the princes constantly fighting for her, decided to give them one final challenge.

"Bring me a meal fit for a princess," she ordered the princes.

The first prince spent all day at the local bakery, pouring his heart and soul into a feast of fresh breads, pasta, pastries and other baked goods.

The second prince spent ten minutes hunting a deer, and then another 20 or so cooking it over a fire.

The first prince now lives alone and is quite overweight. The end.

Not exactly a fairy tale, but the original Robert E. Howard Conan stories are pretty incredible... and I'd qualify them as "paleo" :)

They're all pretty great, but start with The Tower of the Elephant. Rogues in the House and Queen of the Black Coast are also really good. If you like those, check out some of the longer stories - Red Nails and Hour of the Dragon.

One note - if you're looking for kids stories these might not fit the bill - they're pretty bloody.

Enjoy!

Not a fairy tale, but a movie: Legends of the fall.

I know it's a love movie and all, but the scenery, the nature and the life in the wild is just so appealing to me.

First paleo type thing that came to mind is Hansel and Gretel. Witch fattens up little kids on cake and candy to eat them.
