I just got a message that I can get 40lb of chicken for 1.69 a pound. granted it is conventional but if i can save money on the chicken I can spend the $$ on sourcing my other paleo food.

apparently they sell bacon in large amounts as well but not in FL yet.

If you are cutting corners price-wise, it's best to do it with vegetables, rather than meat, particularly poultry. Factory-farming of poultry is among the most harmful to humans and animals, involving chemicals, antibiotics, and unclean living conditions. If you are going to eat factory-farmed meat, beef or lamb is a better choice because all animals are pastured, the factory aspect only comes towards the end of their lives.

It'S fantastic chicken. My only issue with it is that I don't know if that's due to any salt or broth injections. But it's really quite good quality otherwise. Not tough or dry, which I find a lot in other 'natural products'. The next time they have it coming down our way (Arizona) I'm going to try to find out if there has been any additives. I feel like there has to have been because they are HUGE chk breasts.

However, if you do get it I highly suggest taking some care with storage. It comes just in a giant box. Very little wraping otherwise. Before our order came last, I invested in one of those food sealing machine. Best thing I did! In one afternoon, right after picking up the chicken we cut, portioned and sealed all the chicken. We had them separated into packages of either one single serving, two servings, or 4 servings. So convenient! And it tasted fantastic until the last one was gone.

Plus the ease of using them was great. I could take out just what we needed.

If you have space challenges, like we do.. I suggest finding someone to share with. 20lbd is still quite a bit. Lasted my husband and I about 6 months.
