Eats & Cheats in NYC

Hey all, I am heading to NYC this weekend for a quick trip. I'm looking for suggestions for dinner on Saturday or lunch on Sunday- doesn't have to be strict paleo, but I want really good meat and veggies, preferably in a place that does some awesome cocktails (Saturday night). Mid-Manhattan preferably, near Penn Station is a plus.

Also, recommend some cheats! I can do a bit of gluten without much problem, so I'm considering a decent bagel or slice of pizza. Any recommendations?? Thanks!

Hey now, I was just asking questions myself. No need to be rude! However, no, I don't have any restaurant suggestions for you as I'm not familiar with the city myself. I do hope that you are able to get your business accomplished though, with minimal interference from Sandy's leftovers.

Thank you for attempting to be helpful. I also wish this storm hadn't ruined so many lives (not to mention my vacation plans), but I appreciate your positive input.

unfortunately, no. I travel for work and this is my weekend to get there. Thanks for not answering the questions.

I've had this planned for two months. Being an @ss isn't helpful.

A quick trip to do what, gawk? Loot? What do you expect to find besides many people trying to dig their way out of pure devastation?

This weekend? Is there any way to reschedule? Things are a MESS there, and it's super hard to get around anywhere, including just getting into the city is tough.

it's probably closed due to the storm... but for future reference, the restaurant CANNIBAL on (i think) 29th between (i think) lex and park is amazing. they have odd cuts of meat, make their own sausages, tartars (lamb tartar with a raw egg yolk on top!), and my personal favorite- a roasted half pig's head. they also have an extensive beer menu, including gluten free options.

let's send it good thoughts and hope it's open on your next time through.
