I realize this isn't a valid question, just had to get this out there!

I Made an EPIC FAIL. I will be punished with low mood/energy/brain fog from the sugar crash for the rest of the day. And trace amounts of soy! Doh!

At least it was gluten free(mostly rice flour, tapioca starch) and no icing!

Hard times living in modern times ohhh boy.

I blame breaking the paleohacks rules on the sugar, it made me do it! PLEASE DON'T BE MAD sugar is a demon people.

Well I guess it is, but it's still really sweet, not a low-carb food and I ate more than half a pint.

After a while the cheats and treats become their own punishment. You don't have to beat yourself up over it.

Wow. I've been in your shoes and had days where I ate too many carbs and felt terrible. It's what we humans do... we slip. I hope you can give yourself a break (maybe during your nap today?!) and realize that restricting yourself to five food groups (meats, veges, fruits, oils and nuts) is restrictive and sometimes, we need to color outside the lines. As Mark Sisson says, shoot for 80%. Maybe a fast is in your future? Regardless, thank you so much for sharing your "human-ness" and inspiring me. Last week I ate an entire bag of Circus Peanuts (yes, those soft orange marshmallow things) and even though I thought I was going to BARF... my human compulsion still lingers. I forgive myself. I hope you can too. :) Keep on keepin on, Just.

My boyfriend ate about 6 slices of deep dish pizza yesterday, simply because he wanted to. Was a choice he made, and he's back on the band wagon today.

It happens to the very best of us. Is the nature of being human. Overcoming it is when you can put it behind you and not stress over it.

Just keep going, it won't derail you totally, and you'll get back on track before you know it.

At least what you ate was gluten free :)

I've been feeling this way for the last week or two - guilty all the time, not necessarily for eating too many non-paleo foods (though there was a coconut ice cream incident) but for eating way too many calories and feeling totally out of control. I'm pretty sure the downward spiral started when I started allowing sweet things into my diet, a little at a time - some fruit, some Splenda, some sugar alcohols. I'm hoping avoiding those things will help me get and stay on track, and that the problem isn't that's the VLC thing I was doing before was not sustainable for me.

Don't feel bad. I "accidentally" ate 6 gluten-packed chocolate chip cookies last night. BUT DON'T WORRY THEY WERE WHOLE GRAIN. Anyway, I woke up at about 3am feeling insanely hungry and weird from the sugar crash, and then woke up for good a couple hours later feeling like I had eaten a pile of sandpaper.
