That's my story too. False negative blood test result, took 10 years of terrible health that nearly destroyed me. The Paleo diet gave me wings again in September 2011, a new life. I then thought I was simply gluten intolerant. Only two months ago I realized that I'm actually celiac, after the 23andme genetic test was off the chart for the celiac markers.

Hey I have celiac disease and am also on the paleo diet :] :]. I wasn't officially diagnosed because the blood test came back as a negative, I think it was a false negative though. Since I had all the gastro symptoms which gradually worsened over the 9 years it took to diagnose. I also had hypoglycemia even after going gluten free. Whats more I have a ton of food allergies which is typical of celiac. After a couple days of paleo I was amazed at the difference of how I felt! It was like waking up from a bad dream. I literally got up in the morning, walked to the bathroom to throw up like usual, and realized that I didn't even feel nauseous anymore! After that I just kept getting stronger and healthier looking and lost weight so I got a lot of compliments :) :) The next step was giving up processed GF junk food. That was very hard because I had only just discovered it! Paleo is ideal for celiacs. All the recipes are naturally free of gluten and other allergens. It is high protein which is good for healing your cells. And everythings all natural. I think its also helpful to reducing the lectin load in your diet. Would love to hear your story too andrea!

Thank you. I am on holidays at the moment and feel the best I have felt in ages. Makes me really wonder if stress is a huge factor? Have you ever found this? I finally feel my gut is starting to heal.

It was nice hearing from you too :) Its normal to have bad days when you first start. Thats because it takes awhile to realize just how many foods have gluten (I've seen it in frozen veggies), when healing from illness pain is a part of the process, and cross contamination can also be an issue. Best of luck on your paleo and gluten free journey :]

Great to hear from you both. I am only very recently diagnosed and still have some 'bad' days. At the moment I write a journal and put everything down that i eat. I am not eating much of a variety at the moment until I heal my gut. I can't eat fruit at the moment but I am hoping that is temporary. I have cut all dairy, but to be honest I never felt great when i ate this even when i was a kid. How long before you felt totally healed.
I am not going down the road of G.F products, one I live in Thailand at the moment where they are not available and also I have read up that they are not good for us, over priced junk food. I love everything I have read about Paelo, makes so much sense and as you said really suits celiacs. Nice touching base with you both, thank you.

Hello there! I'm gluten intolerant but cant do the celiac test because I've been off gluten for over 7 years and would have to eat wheat for 3 months to do the test again.. The last time I ate gluten for that long I ended up passing out on the floor from the pain and my legs weirdly fitting...So I could be celiac but will never know! I've been Paleo for 6 months now and I absolutely love it!!! I feel like I've been set free from all the foods that could cause harm to my body and a world of natural foods has opened up. I'm also trying not to eat too much meat and having lots of nuts instead. It's working really well so far and would definitely recommend Paleo for Celiac... It totally supports the Celiac diet... and has help me tremendously in loosing the weight I'd gained during my life of eating wheat and processed foods. I feel like I've been set free. So far I have lost 3 stone and still have 3 stone to loose. I'd previously had terrible trouble digesting the Gluten Free products that supplement wheat and fear that they are even harder to digest and cause more damage to the gut and go through an even more processed... Good luck.x Gaea
