Why don't carbs give me any energy unless eaten with protien?

If I eat any carbs without protien I will feel like I have less energy, brain fog, and feel like I ate almost anti-food. Like the food took more energy from me than it gives. Is this candida or something stealing energy from me? Or can I just not digest carbs well?

How do you feel if you eat protein with carbs? What about if you eat protein without carbs?

Go buy yourself a blood glucose meter, test every 15 minutes after eating carbs alone, and you'll see why. Your blood sugar may spike and then drop lower than it was before you ingested the carb. This is what happens in insulin resistance--it takes a lot of insulin to deal with the excess carbs and once you get enough insulin to handle the carbs it's too much insulin and drops your blood sugar so you feel like dirt.

Eating protein or fat with carbs slows this process down.
