Why do i feel like working out directly after eating?

This happens to me far too many times to be coincidence, I've just finished a hefty steak with fried onions & chips at 6.45pm. It's now 7.15 & I now feel like doing a workout..bodyweight routine, lifting etc...what gives?? My carb intake varies these days, i used to be low carb <60g..these days i don't count. My eating habits are, protein for breakfast or i skip breakfast & have protein mid-day. Most of my carbs come with my evening meal & late night eating, maybe it's the no-low carb through the day? The only thing that's making me second guess this is the fact that i've always felt somewhat energzised after eating, even before i cleaned up my diet this was the case..unless i ate a ton of processed stuff/pasta/bread etc. then i'd feel sluggish. Does this happen to anyone else??

I had this same thing happen last night...had about 3/4 rack of ribs with a bunch of veggies and ended up doing a bunch of burpees and pull ups. Sometimes it just feels good to workout. If that happens to be after a big meal then, well, that's when it's going to happen.

The funny part is that I always go to the gym in the morning and train fasted. I guess food = fuel and working out is fun with fuel!

Because you are CRAZY!!! LOL...

I dont how you could eat a HEFTY STEAK and want to workout 1/2 hour later. My body wants to shut its self down to focus on what I just put in my stomach. Especially when it's a big steak!! In fact I would say you need to, if you start working out too quickly you may run the risk of not digesting your food properly.

It's like the old wives tale about waiting an hour after eating before you go swimming...
