Too much carbs early in the day?

When I work out in the mornings I usually bring two potatoes and a little meat with me to eat afterwords but my stomach never feels quiet right.

Too many carbs too early in the day? ..When i work out at night I can eat two plain potatoes after my workout and come home and eat 2 or 3 more laced with olive oil and feel amazing...I just haven't been able to get this feeling in the morning.

Should I limit my carbs before dinner time even when working out in the mornings?...maybe only bring one potato?

I eventually switched to night workouts. But for awhile it was just some protein and then a banana. So something like a few ounces of leftover chicken, beef, or fish. It was always something really quick to prepare and eat. Now I just workout at night and just feast!

i like this idea...I think i'm gonna limit my post workout carbs to one potato with fat & then go crazy at night. What do you eat PWO in the mornings?

My doctor told me to limit my carbs for breakfast. I suppose to have a cup of bone broth with meat and some non-starchy vegetable.

white potatoes have more iron, magnesium, and potassium. The obvious advantage of sweet potatoes is the high amount of vitamin A and the slightly lower carb content...but I'm pretty sure I get plenty of vitamin A

Why, Brent? Yes, sweet potatoes offer more nutritional value, but white potatoes can be included in a healthy Paleo diet.

if you workout hard enough 4 potatoes a day is paleo. I was very skinny before bringing back potatoes. Now i'm growing muscle like i'm on roids....and I shuffle between sweet potatoes & white potatoes.

Couple of links for you

Basically they implement what's called Carb Backloading where you eat all your net carbs after your workout at night. You can modify the protocol for morning workouts.

The reason I bring these up, is like you, I was not handling carbs as well in the morning and then found out about these guys. Definitely much better putting off your carbs until the night, and during the day sticking to protein and fat.

I eat a lot of potatoes and rice a day.

In fact I ate 4 potatoes and about 1/2 cup of rice last night for dinner.

I lift sometimes.

I look good.

Still paleo.

Holy Mother of Pearl. Four potatoes? If you were truly being Paleo, you should eat ZERO potatoes. Or at least swap for a sweet potato. but heck, even two potatoes is roughly 100 starchy carbs. There's your problem! :)
