Ladies: PMS and IF...Relief?

This is a question only women should be able to answer. I get terrible carb and sugar cravings the week before my period. I have been working with the Leangains protocol of eating from 1-9 daily, but I find that the carb cravings come hardest at night when my body is relaxing for sleep.

Wondering if you had found a solution to beat this? I was thinking about changing my eating window from 2-10 or 3-11 so that I can have that meal later at night (thought it might just help). Thoughts?

"other treats"? You must be a dog or cat lover.

Good to know I am on the right track. Got some 99 per cent cocoa chocolate today that seems to do the trick. Half a square (like 130cal and 0 sugar) and I felt better. Which leads me to believe I just may have to fat-load.

I think that's definitely worth trying. I have to have a window that allows me to eat up until a couple of hours before bed as I seem to sleep best with food in my belly.

Are you allowing yourself chocolate or other treats? I try to fight the cravings but I make sure to have some treats around or at least have the ingredients in the house so I can whip something up quickly if lives are about to be lost. I also eat more in general at this time and that seems to help.

i get this, but i fight binge cravings on a daily basis. premenstral is the worst though. the best solution for me is an egg or two fried in coconut oil. last night i chose a banana and ended up eating three with a dozen brazil nuts and three squares of chocolate :(

Personally, I get sugar cravings right before AND in the middle of my Period, especially for chocolate... I do IF by only eating from 2 pm to 9 pm.

I found that if I eat a big lunch and dinner that I feel better if I eat a small dessert-like thingy in the evening, as a last meal (for me, that??s Heavy Cream with Coconut Milk or Greek Yogurt with Blueberries and Raspberries) and/or 85% Chocolate. If I don??t get these in this particularly days, my mood is no good.

So actually, I do exactly what you thought of, too :D
