Carbs - OK for auto-immune?

Hi guys,

I have a question about carbs. I usually eat about 219g of carbs per day, through sweet potatoes and vegetables only. According to Mark Sisson's carb curve that's in the ''danger area''.

Does this mean it will just make you put on weight (exactly what I want) or is there anything else wrong with eating this much carbs through Paleo friendly sources?

For example, does this amount of carbs increase inflammation via insulin if you've got auto-immune? Or is it fine because it's just sweet potatoes and vegetables?

I feel great all the time by the way as long as I stick to strict auto-imunne protocol.

Thanks that's great. I've been adding 100g of beef fat to my meals and I feel awesome afterwards.

I've got eczema (Albeit a rather mild case) but it flares when I eat non-paleo foods barring dairy products. Carbs, however, don't seem to effect it. However, do make sure you're eating carbs and enough fat, probably especially saturated fat. It's my completely unscientifically-mused opinion that autoimmune sufferers are in dire need of nutrients since their natural absorption is so messed up, and you need fats to carry several vital nutrients. Luckily for you, if you need to gain weight, I bet you have more than enough caloric room to get enough carbs and fat together.

How do you get 219 G of carbs eating veggies and potatoes? You surely eat a lot of potatoes. I can't even do 100g of carbs via veggies. Its hard

200+g of carbs is the danger zone because most people would gain unwanted weight with that much carbs. If you are super active, however, that's not a problem. I'm on the autoimmune protocol for all over body eczema and rashes. I can eat carbs, just not nightshades. I can eat sweet potatoes just fine, without it aggravating my skin, but I always gain weight.
