from what I've heard kiefer saying (carb backloadin / carb nite solution) it seems that whilst we are more insulin sensitive in the morning, this includes fat cells as well as the muscle. If you time the carbs for night, and particularly large amounts of carbs in the evening and post-workout window you minimize the likelyhood of nutrients bein partitioned into the fat cells and maximize the potential of those nutrients being partitioned into muscle.

Just posted on another similar question yesterday. There are recent studies that carb backloading (evening) yields better results. More if you search for "protein roundtable alan aragon" on youtube - start from 55 minutes.

From what I have read and understood. It doesn't matter when you eat your carbs assuming you are not working out twice a day (and require refueling). Your body can accept dietary carbs throughout the day and can use them effectively.

Some will say post-workout. But several studies have shown that protein is the only thing that has a significant post-workout window. The rest can be fed throughout the day.

i don't think it matters. i've eaten them all in the morning, all at night, and evenly spaced throughout the day. i guess i like to evenly space my carbs throughout the day.
