If I know that I'm gonna have a small cheat (for example a bowl of ice cream) should I make up for it the rest of the day by keeping my calories low and consuming mostly protein because ice cream is high in carbs? Or should I just continue with my paleo eating throughout the day? On days that I know I'm going to meet some friends for ice cream or froyo, I usually just live off of boiled eggs and canned tuna the whole day to make up for my cheat meal. My main focus right now is weight loss. I've been mostly paleo for a year and a half so I know what I tolerate and what I don't so, that's not really something I'm concerned with.I just want to know which method would be better to not hinder my weight loss or make me gain weight.

I would make sure to have plenty of water, fiber, and protein throughout the day, and no other sugars except possibly a piece of fresh fruit, depending how you handle it. Also, when you treat yourself, just don't get a huge portion. Way less guilt.
