Why massive carb cravings after sun bathing?

I got really massive carb cravings yesterday and today after been out for several hours sun-bathing. Ate some meat, but it was carbs my body wanted. So had to buy strawberries, blueberries and dark chocolate to get satisfied.. Anyone experienced the same? What could the reason be?

I have read before that being in the sun is very depleting. The more vitamin D you take in the more magnesium you need with it. So that might be why you feel a need for carbs - low magnesium levels.

I don't have any science-facts to show you, but I've always though that being in the sun is exhausting. Just like when you play a sport, your body craves quick energy (carbs), when you tire your body by just being outside you also crave carbs.... try a pre-workout snack before you sunbathe (like a banana). Hope this helps!

Berries have antioxidants that are supposed to be good for reducing your chance of sunburn. They are also full of water and minerals, so they can help rehydrate you.

Sounds like your body knows what it is doing. Keep listening to it.

I would love to know this answer as well, since I'm a victim of the carb frenzy after the pool. Are you just sun bathing, or swimming also? I used to crave chips right after the pool and it was a horrible idea, but I'd always eat anything I wanted! Now I keep fruit with me in a cooler beside the pool when I can go, or some water with fruit mixed in. It helped a LOT.
