Does anyone know where I can buy decent-quality canned smoked oysters online?
I usually buy these, but they're unavailable: http://www.amazon.com/Crown-Prince-Natural-Oysters-3-Ounce/dp/B004CD4PM0/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1358374146&sr=8-8&keywords=canned+oysters

Thanks, good to hear they'll be back soon. Interesting about the origin...I've bought them before, and it was said to be from South Korea.

That brand had a recall for a novovirus but is suppose to return next month. Small North American brands, such as Oregon's Choice, are probably cleaner but much more expensive if purchased online. Both Trader Joes and Whole Foods in my area carry Crown Prince when available. Crown Prince seems to be the best of the inexpensive brands, but I'm not thrilled with Oysters apparently grown in China's runoff. It's good to support companies working in cleaner fisheries if finances allow that choice. Especially with filter feeders like Oysters.
