High metabolism with hypothyroid?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroid about 4 years ago. Been paleo for about two. I gained a little weight recently so I decided to watch my eating and get back down to my happy weight of 130. I had been having a lot of trouble losing weight, so I finally went and got a metabolic test ( the one where they take your breath for 10 minutes), and to my shock my metabolism was in the high range! Now I had no food, drink, exercise, medicine, or tobacco for about 10 hours. Is this possible? Or do you think the test just had an error?

1693, they gave ranges for people with my heart, weight, and BMI. The normal range was 1300-1600. I did the test in the morning before taking my thyroid medication.

Are you on medicine for hypothyroidism? What was your actual result? What were the values from your BMP?

The RMR should give you a ball park for your basal metabolic rate. Normal/ High is not what they output, 1200/1400/1800 is the typical output.

All it does is measure Breath in and Breath out, there are numerous studies that show this correlates to metabolism, but that was only for "normal people". I have never seen a study that showed the accuracy of RMR for someone with Hypothyroidism..
