Hey everyone I know that this type of thread probably gets old but I have a few questions But first a little about me, over the past year I have lost 85 pounds pretty much came to find out I was following a lot of the paleo principles and didn't even know it, ie. Watching for added sugars, no grains, eating quality sources of protein etc. I also watched my calorie intake but really didnt have a numbered goal. Through it all I was always feeling hungry. Until I really started tracking my caloric intake I realized I was eating way below my recommended daily allowance, I lost a ton of muscle mass in the process. After using a lot of the calorie calculators on the web as a reference I concluded that I should be eating around 2800 cals a day. I did some research on paleo and saw that you could eat more fats and protein than most lifestyle eating plans. The positive is atleast I feel satisfied at the end of the day. Really have maintained my weight and havent notice any fat gain. (On thes second week of the diet) The question I have is to get to this mark I am eating way more than I ever thought possible.
My food today:
5 eggs cooked in olive oil, 1 4oz hamburger patty, 2 avocados, 16 ozs of ground beef, 3 table spoons of almond butter, 2 4oz chicken breasts, 3 tablespoons of almonds, 1 greek yogurt, 2 1/2 bell peppers, 2 large servings of asparagus, whey protein shake. 1/2 cup blueberries I may have missed a few things but this is the bulk of what I ate today.
Is this a good foundation to paleo?
I would be interested to hear what others are eating that have a similar caloric intake goal.
I keep carbs lower/moderate to around 85-140, higher in the range on work out days which is 3-4 days a week. Some days I feel like I am eating to much fat or protein to make up for the calories I am short with a lower/moderate carb intake.
Is this just what I should expect with Paleo?
Thanks for any input,
