How much caffeine do you take pre-workout? I'm taking 200 from a tablet but I think I used to be on more from pre-workout drinks I used to take like Jack3d.

Don't ask questions if you don't want to know the answers. If your question was why not, then I would tell you about being addicted to chemicals and getting artificial gains, no matter how minor, from caffiene - but you didn't ask.

When I used to take it, it was around 200mg. This was a good number for me, since I only usually drank two cups of coffee a day (one in the morning, and one at night).

It really depends on how much caffeine you take in on a normal day. If you want your pre-workout caffeine to put you in a higher state of stimulation than normal, then you need to ingest a dose that's a little over your normal amount. I'd say if you drink four or less cups (~240mg caffeine) per day, than 200mg should get you where you want.

An easy way to figure out if you're taking enough, is to note if you feel more energetic, alert, and ready to work hard after you take it. If not, then increase the dose, or take something else. I used to take a pill, Orange Speedball, which is a mix of 200mg caffeine along with synephrine, and other plant extracts. I thought it worked pretty well, and I was taking one pill pre-workout. Also, at 9.00 for 100 workouts, the price wasn't bad at all.
