What is the best caffeine free tea to make butter tea with?

I make bulletproof-like coffee most mornings, but some days I don't have time to make it in the morning and just drink it black. I'd like to make a caffeine free butter tea when I get home from work on those days, but I have never seen a recipe using naturally caffeine free tea.

We buy whole beans and grind. I'm picky on coffee, found an amazing taste. Once bag opens, we use it up rather quickly,

Maybe it's about the coffee being low quality or wrong storage. If you buy freshly ground coffe and store it in the freezer use quickly or buy coffee beans and grind them prior to preparing, the results may be better.

I think black/green/white tea is without a doubt a bad option:

I was wondering the same thing because I also love my bulletproof coffee (my own recipe to save $$). I end up using decaf coffee in the afternoon. I'd love to find a good tea though. I only like black tea for this, but don't do it bc of the caffiene.

Green, black, or even Holy Basil (aka Tulsi) work just fine for me. If you have stress issues, Holy Basil is wonderful stuff - buy it in a bulk pack, not in bags and use a stainless steel tea steeper.

I think you shall try mate. Some claim it has caffeine but it doesn't. It has a similar compond called mateine that doesn't do things like interrupting with sleep. I drink a tea with yerba mate and never noticed it being bad for anything.
