Long work days, how many meals do you eat?!

I have a long commute schedule (4 hours round trip) and wondering when it is the best time to eat throughout the day? I'm especially worried about the mornings. I have a 20 min drive to the bus stop and a 2 hour bus ride to work so I usually sleep on the way in -- should I be eating right at 5:00-5:30 AM while I am getting ready or wait until I walk into work and eat at 7:30 AM?

^This. One of the benefits of Paleo (at least it's been this way for me) is that hunger becomes much less of an issue. I eat when I get hungry and if I can't eat then for some reason, it's pretty easy to ignore the hunger and go about my day until I have some more time free. Case in point: just remembered I still haven't eaten the breakfast I packed in. I'm hungry, but it just slipped my mind until now. Pretty nice feeling, to be honest :) Also, why not just eat on the bus? Little weird, I know, but you're already eating Paleo, so you're not normal by any means ;)

When are you hungry? I had the same situation. I had to catch a 6 30 am bus but woke up at 5 am. I always at on the bus ride into town for school because i had an 8 am weight training class. I wouldve been way too out of it if i had waited until after an hour of weight lifting. So listen to ur body's signals.

Eat if you feel hungry, don't eat if you aren't. Plan ahead for both scenarios and pack some good quality snacks in a lunch bag in case you want something. If you don't eat it in the morning, store it at work and eat it later in the day or on the way home. Try not to over think it -- you'll just stress yourself out.

This is a very, very bro-ey thing to say, but the Vikings ate two meals, fueling a huge amount of physical activity. The non-Olympian really doesn't need to eat more than twice per day, unless you want to (in which case, have at it!).

On weekdays, I generally drink coffee with heavy cream during the morning and afternoon until I get home from work. Occasionally I may have a bit of fruit, or a little whole fat yogurt with a touch of maple syrup for breakfast, OR a small salad or a bit of leftovers for lunch, but I very rarely eat over 300 calories of solid food for breakfast or lunch. Just the coffee and heavy cream does it for me all day. Then I eat a big dinner when I get home.

I quite often work 12 hours days and my first meal is at 14:00, coffee only until then. I'll eat either two or three meals up until about 22:00. Works for me - I can concentrate all morning.

I eat when I get up, even though I'm not the most hungry just yet then, so that I can prepare a nice hot meal for myself and eat it at home rather than packing something for work or whatever. So I eat around 6 am, a snack around 9-10, lunch around 1, maybe another snack at 4 and dinner around 7.
