Am I gluten intolerant?

I ea relatively well, fish eggs, fruit, veg, nuts etc but I do eat bread. The bread I eat is a british brand called burgen and it claims to contain essential fatty acids and 4g of fibre per slice... the thing is, I have noticed lately that I tend to get wind after eating it, and while I dont get outrageously bloated, my stomach is slightly uncomfortable just after eating. I also have been constipated lately. Do you think my body is telling me to ditch the bread?

I've always eaten bread, and hadn't noticed until lately since I cleaned up my eating that I feel uncomfortable after eating it..

lol, on paleo forum asking if you should ditch bread, 'yes' is the only responce you will get. :D

oddly enough(not really) whole grain flour retains more of its gluten as its less processed than white, so its no suprise that you would get a stronger reaction from whole grain than a very refined flour.

in general paleo just assumes everyone is gluten intolerant because of the high rates of it. the protocol is generally just give up grains for a while, see if you feel better. if you do, i doubt youll go back, then again if you feel the same; by all means feel free to add them back in and if you get no negative reactions, feel free to enjoy your bread.(some may still argue against this)(but w.e)

It's really hard to tell. I'd say ditch the bread and all other gluten you may be getting (in soy sauce, for instance) for 3 weeks and see if you feel better. If the issues don't go away, you could add it back in if you'd like. How long have you been eating the bread? Is it a recent thing?
