Any Squatty Potty users?

I know how bad sitting is for us and believe we aren't meant to sit while defficating. The Squatty potty seems like a fascinating "civilized" solution. But before I risk getting crap from my roommate (in college), I want to know if its really helped anyone with regularity issue?

you know, I actually do the same now (at least at home which is usually the only place I have to anyway). It has helped so much even though the position isn't too comfortable trying to balance on such a narrow part of the foot. And a cirque du soleil act for sure haha. My primal squatting position needs to be worked on. Thanks for the recommendation! No wasting money on anything now

I squat on the rim to give allow more room to maneuver. Sometimes I like to move around a little while squatting in order to better facilitate the process, and I wouldn't want to hit the seat.

+1 because this is hilarious and could also be hazardous in a hilarious way.

Why do you squat on the rim? I put my feet on the seat itself - more space for your feet.

lol..your roomates gonna think you lost it :) why not just get an ikea stool.(fraction of the price) I have one from when my kid was smaller and it seems to do kinda the same thing by elevating your knees while your feets are resting on it.

Just make sure you are completely stable before you get underway!

I bought one, but it actually didn't give me a deep enough squat. Now I step onto the toilet seat and squat down. Definitely a life changer. I even do it in heels in the office bathroom - I'm like a bathroom-stall Cirque du Soleil act!

Don???t bother buying one, just put a box in front of the toilet and pop your feet on that, arrange self as necessary. It has helped me produce easier, more consistent poos.

Im so buying one of these when i have the spare cash, i had a similar idea before i saw the ad on this site as anytime ive taken a crap in the woods (and squatted, naturally) it has been very satisfying, most of the time don't even need to wipe!

I tend to lift the seat and squat on the rim. I have had hemorrhoid surgery and have noticed a huge improvement since I started squatting. I definitely recommend it. The Squatty Potty doesn't fully emulate the position you are in when you actually squat. It is better than nothing, but I would really suggest getting into a full squat if possible. As an added bonus, I have also had knee surgery, and squatting has helped me to improve my flexibility in that knee.

I've been using my kids' Ikea bathroom step under my feet for years even before I got into primal lifestyle, just having noticed that having my knees higher made it easier. So you can achieve a squatting type posture on the conventional toilet that will be more natural without grossing out your roommate.
