hi

anyone know any good books or online articles about living on zc? i've been to the "zeroing in on health" forum and will start going through the "active low carb" forum. but i really want some books directly about zero carb (meat and fat diet). is stefansson's work (fat of the land and adventures in diets) the only stuff out there? thx

I hope not like this. I got to the point where I walked by a berry display and had such a strong drool response I dribbled all down myself!!

Gosh, candida is such a tough topic. Good luck with your protocol. I'm better with 50-100gms carb. My first clue that I was lacking in micronutrients was a funny kind of dizziness and dry eyes, muscosa.

Not quite about zero-carb, but here's a book by two ketogenic diet researchers, Jeff Volek and Steve Phinney, that addresses pretty much everything currently known about ketogenic diets for health and weight loss. It's become my favorite book on the topic by far.

I disagree with Melinda above about a zero-carb diet being unhealthy for most people. I certainly don't think it's necessary for everybody, and if plants don't make you sick in any way, you might as well eat the ones you like. But for me it's been close to a miracle (for weight loss, relief from terrible joint pain, and all-around health improvements)--the closer I eat to true zero-carb (meat and water, period), the better I feel and look. And there are plenty of others like who are doing just fine without plant matter.

I was ZC for only about a month and just some veggies for about 4 (20-30gm a day?) and it was not good to me.

If you are going to go ZC I really suggest eating the whole animal. Meat, organs, broth from bones and tendons. Have seafood 2-3x a week and LISTEN TO YOUR BODY.

If you literally start drooling uncontrollably at the site of berries take it as a hint!!!

Justin, not sure you are still looking for info but you might read "the Bear"

I don't recommend zero carb. It works for some ppl but most of us don't have nearly good enough intestinal bio-mob to get everything we need from meat and fat alone and modern meat is probably deficient in micronutrients.
