Why would gluatmine/bone broth cause my hand to swell?

Does anyone know any reason why glutamine or why bone broth would cause my hand/joints to swell or what could be taking place? I've been having this problem where my hand will swell at random times (literally my right hand fingers get bigger, my joints will be harder to move, the color goes off in my hand) i've been to the doctor, they checked uric acid levels, they were fine, they checked for athritis, no arthritis. i am 24 btw.

can anyone help me or recommend a resource i can try to find out why this is? really frustrating..

Not really since there isn't any bacteria to break down the proteins and release the glutamate. I'm highly sensitive to free glutamates/aspartates and get arrhythmias if I ingest significant amounts, but no reaction from sardines. Worth the risk of a few bucks for one can at least.

Both would result in a rise in free glutamic acid. Try sardines for calcium and skip the supplement altogether.

Some hypothesis as to why some people react to it is discussed here http://paleohacks.com/questions/129253/reaction-to-bone-broth
