what is actually considered a low basal body temp for a menstruating woman

ive read some conflicting information

on certain thyroid boards they tend to freak out if your bbt is less than 98.0, however then i have read of seemingly healthy people who have bbt's in the mid 97 range (especially certain times of the month).

when would it start to be a concern? are there healthy people here with lower bbts? thanks

I'd like to see the answers for this. I've been taking my temps for almost a month and they are never up to 98..morning or any time during the day.

When I was trying my basal temp daily, it was frequently in the 95.8-97.0 range. Supposedly that is a sign of hypothyroidism, but I had no other striking symptoms of it. Also, my regular waking temp is usually 97.5.

I don't think low basal temperature should be a concern unless there are other signs of fertility issues or hypothyroidism.

My waking temps used to be in the low 97s. Then it shifted downwards in the 96s. Now it's in the 95s. This may be because I got a new thermometer (old one broke). I don't worry about it much. If I'm running 98.6, I'm probably sick!

I have thyroid problems (thyroid antibodies, that was 2 years ago, awaiting recent test results for current situation) and my temp goes to 98.8F freely.
