Did your Poop, pee, mucous, spit, ejaculate, blood, sweat, pus, tears change on Paleo?

What say you?

.

.

.

(meaning, do you ever hack your bodily fluids? have any fluids changed in composition or amount while you've been on paleo, other than fewer tears because you're so goshdarn happy? are any of these important health indicators? )

i noticed the SAME thing with my poop. usually just 2 to 3 wipes and it's all gone. i also have an issue with constipation sometimes too tho :( i dont think i can fully adjust to being paleo without occasionally adding in some legumes, like lentils. i dont care what anyone says. i know that for me a couple servings of legumes will help me out a lot.

Heather, +1 on the "high strung":) The biggest helps for that -and it really is totally resolved - were sufficient magnesium consistently for month, truly switching to high SFA and using coconut oil, using beef tallow for cooking (loweset PUFA around), bone, getting sufficient b vitamins from organs (preferred) or supplements (less preferred), bone marrow (contains the phospholipid lecithin that is very important for cell signaling in the brain). And the benefits of CBT, meditation and exercise cannot be overstated. I walk in the woods often and do bodyrock.tv for more intense exercise.

Fwiw, it did take a long time. I've been gluten free for 9 years but paleo for only 16 mos or so. The remaining sjogren's symptoms resolved after about 6 mos on paleo when I added *a lot* of SFA. I still had some remaining symptoms (joint pain, high CRP, minor mood stuff) until July when I went *hardcore* off all linoleic acid, started eating bone stock daily, organs (not just liver but also sweetbreads and more), 3 oz oily fish daily, 2 raw egg yolks, 3 oz fatty beef (or organs). I'm off all supplements except for D and mag.

Thanks Anne - I've been paleo/primal on and off for about a year. I do fall off the wagon occasionally though with the gluten. I think my biggest problem though is my ability or lack thereof to deal with stress. I think this is the biggest factor affecting my Sjogren's symptoms. I am a high strung kind of person who likes structure and sameness and my family moves frequently due to my husbands job. So I think until I figure out how to calm down, I'm going to have symptoms.

My dry eyes and mouth resolved too when I dropped gluten 100%. I drool now when I see food. Heather, sorry you have not seen improvement. How long have you been gluten free/paleo? Some things take a long time to heal. Sadly, sometimes damage can be so great to be beyond repair.

I lol'd so hard I think I pooped a little, it looks normal as per the Bristol Poop Scale: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Stool_Scale

As for urine mine is almost clear with no strong smell, as I am always hydrated now. No more excessive nasal mucous as my allergies have disappeared. Ear wax is a non issue now, I used to have to clean my ears every 2-3 days on SAD. Ejaculate, have always have good volume , have been told the taste is milder now. I work hard outside almost daily and although I sweat a lot there is little odor my deodorant stick barely touches my pit, just a tap lasts me all day. I drool at the smell of a steak grilling or bacon frying. Blood is still red and tastes metallic (I heal faster now, cuts scrapes, etc).

No more dry eyes! I used to have most symptoms of Sjogren's Syndrome: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001491/

Now I have normal mucous and saliva production. I see that as a function of resolved autoimmune issues rather than anything else.

Okay, I've wanted to broach this subject for a while, and you've given me the opportune moment to do so... ;)

Since being paleo, and particularly since going quite HF, all my BMs float. Sorry to answer a question with a question, but why is this? Fat content being excreted?

Other: zero mucus since giving up all dairy but heavy /sour cream - but they are rare treats.

When eating Paleo my poo doesn't need to be wiped. I do anyway, but it almost always comes up clean. I find this to be one of the most awesome side effects so far.

No noticeable change in mucous.

Didn't notice a change in discharge.

I don't think I sweat as much/am as stinky as I used to be, but that could be because I'm simply less active.

When I cheat, even a little, depression is exacerbated and I go into a downward spiral causing lots of tears, and a very messy house, which causes more tears.

Instead of getting full blown colds, I simply get clogged ears for 1-2 days (whereas my non-paleo friends will have the full-on nyquil commercial ragers for a week or more). My eyes no longer water in the presence of lawncare.

Poo results in either "excited, rapid exit" (if I overdo fat) to "no wiper". Pee is normal, no strong aroma unless I've eaten lots of asparagus. The other thing, well, I do take ZMA and that increases the "volume" substantially. Certain foods tend to make the smell pretty gnarly (i've heard pineapple counters that).

This is an odd one, but my ear wax has gotten significantly gooier/runnier. The weirdest thing is when I'm clearing brush and run into a patch of weeds that make me all sneezy, I now get drippy ears in addition to the drippy nose, in what seems to be a very protactive defense mechanism.

Great question.

I examine my output [of any form, except tears ofc, I am an alpha male] pretty much every day :). All of them. I notice color, smell, texture, viscosity. I think its pretty important, given the low number of useful tools we can use to log our body ATM.

Poop: Sometimes a bit loose if i overdo starch, but otherwise fine. Regular too.

Pee: Had troubles staying hydrated but since upping my fat noticed an improvement.

Mucous: Don't get a phlegmy throat anymore caused by dairy and probably wheat.

Spit:Dry mouth when eating low carb and not enough fat. Otherwise fine.

Ejaculate: Fine, haven't had any complaints ;)

Blood: Wounds heal fast.

Sweat: Never really been a sweater. Could run a marathon and still be pretty dry. Not sure if it means anything or just me.

Pus: No idea. Haven't had any fungal infections though.

Tears: They now taste like steak.

Also, i rarely fart when i don't cheat. Too much dairy or almost any cheat and i'm stinking out everywhere i go for 48 hours or so.

i'm going to be really dirty and talk about puss.. sorry.. but it is really interesting lol.. i suffer with hidrenitis suppurtiva (chronic abscesses) and before paleo i was getting about 12 really painful and hideous pussy ones a week. now 4 motnhs in, maybe 2 a month and the pain is nothing and the puss has gone from being like puss to more like blood..

i too am less sneezy, very little earwax etc..

what i do notice is when i have cheese or cream that i get spots within 12 hours and everything flares up for a couple of days.

brilliant question.. i guess bodies are bodies including all their excretions eh :)
