I'm 16 years old ( female ) and one of the reasons why I went to paleo was because of emotional cravings for S.A.D foods and i always felt pretty lousy.
I initially started paleo as low carb (50-80g), just to help me kick the cravings out the door and to get myself acquainted with fat metabolism.
I have tendencies to under-eat, I don't know why I just do. If I don't count calories on paleo I seem to start to loose weight. and for the 2nd time, I am underweight ( for my body, on the line of underweight on the teenage bmi graph), and lost my period, therefore I should gain weight. ( Note that I've been skinny all my life)
Because of this and me feeling incredibly full adding more calories to gain half a pound per week, I find I can scoff down carbs so I added more carbs. No more than 150 grams per day, I dont even think I reach 150 actually.
My father, even though, fit, healthy and lean has blood glucose levels of a prediabetic, before we went paleo, my father always felt tired after meals and sometimes went for naps, and craved sweet foods.
So I could be at risk for some kind of related issue.
Right now i feel like I have no energy at all, and this is after I was going to skip lunch and merge it with dinner because I was so damn full from eating so much this morning ( and my eating patterns vary alot) but I started having this hunger where I had to eat right then. So I did.
Any advice, knowledge or past experiences would be lovely!
Also, does going paleo affect how you handle..for example, S.A.D carby foods even though you were fine with them before?

Yes, not constantly being in a funky state from chronic using SAD foods will make the SAD foods seem to effect you worse when you decide to have them for whatever reason.
However, I don't think you have too much to worry about re: hypoglycemia, 'cept getting enough carbohydrates, which you've already identified. When I finally became strict paleo, I did have one incident where I had (basically) a hypoglycemic event. Make sure you're eating enough, and especially don't give up good carbohydrates completely!
If you are concerned about getting enough food into you, the easiest way is to add fats. Just slather butter on all your veggies and meat. :-) If butter doesn't do it for you, consider making sauce with leftover pan drippings. Find someway to sneak those dense, luxurious fat calories in there.
How long have you been paleo? How often do you cheat, if at all? (sounds like you do?)
Good luck. If you find that you are struggling with diet and mood, consider asking your family for more help - it sounds like they may be on board for this already?
... I have to add: if you're very concerned or worried, please see a doctor!
