Paleo & High Blood Pressure

My mother got diagnosed with high blood pressure yesterday. Everyone older than 40 on both sides of my family has high blood pressure....and I don't want to be next. I'm 22 (and have been eating paleo for almost a year now!) - will eating paleo keep me out of the danger zone for high blood pressure for the rest of my life, or am I probably doomed for it either way?

Having the genetic history of certain diseases/conditions does not doom you to suffering from them. However, you can trigger or "de-arm" the genes to some degree my your actions (eating & lifestyle). I agree that the video will explain that notion.

It's a little long, but check out this video on epigenetics.

You are definitely not doomed for HBP so long as you take care of yourself and care about what you eat/do.
