Dr. K was recognized by Flylady tonight

Answered on August 19, 2014
Created June 10, 2011 at 7:26 AM

Tonight Flylady (an icon for home organization) linked to Dr. K's blog and apparently crashed his site from so many visitors. She has thousands of devoted followers, and she recently read 'Why we get fat' and shares this wisdom with her followers. What do you think about this? I'm ecstatic because the two areas I'm improving my life in are finding eachother. Also because people listen to her, and this may give Paleo quite a push.

What should one see on a RT3. My last test after lowering my dose of Naturethroid and following the Perfect Health Diet for about 30 days showed my RT3 low in the normal range.Previously it tested above the normal range and again high but in the normal range. I still can't seem to lose weight. I will be tested again in a few weeks.

I never said that you said whoever disagrees with you is wrong. how you come off is that you alone hold some indisputable truth that any day now we're all going to be able to see and that no one else has this truth right now. that may not be how you mean to come off but it seems like i'm not the only one who gets this vibe from you. kgh's paleo 2.0 pushed the paleo ball forward more than any of writing that you have done has, imo. it is deductive in approach, conservative in claim and he accompanied his manifesto with clear implementation guidelines. despite his acerbic demeanor, i can trust

They need my cortisol blog. If you can change an overweight fibromyalgic you can change anyone. Well that is what I do everyday. Now I'm gonna share it. If your a fit paleo hacker you need to understand the context. Leptin resistance may not be your current issue. Most of you don't even know if you have it cause you have not had a rev T3. But maybe if you hit a plateau you might consider this as a possibility or a high cortisol level as a possibility. That is thought that could change your DNA

Every person that comes in my office is one. Then I get them to think differently using a quantified self appraoach. Very similar to a paleo hacker......but I take it a lot further. That is why I ejected kh paleo 2.0 manifesto.....it is transformative for you the movement and does nothing for the organizational change in medicine. My approach is to go after it all. I know my goals

my guess with KGH is that he is interested in the state of the economy right now more so than nutrition blogging. It is quite possible that investors well-versed in global economics will be making large sums off of their investments in the next 18-24 months. I miss all of his nutrition posts, but I would really enjoy a political/economic rant or two from him:)

Most Fly Lady devotees are over-stressed, over-worked and mostly overweight women just trying to keep their shit together each day. I'm not sure they have the bandwidth available to tackle much more than trying to eat a little healthier, lose a few pounds and not feel like crap on a daily basis. I'm sure your message will resonate with a few but I still don't think that's your target audience. Not by a stretch.

The ridicule has nothing to do with resistance to change. Many paleohackers will change on a dime. Most paleohackers also are rationally critical, even of gurus with credentials. You think everyone who disagrees with you is wrong. But your vast array of knowledge is poisoned by your assumption that you are 100% right and don't need to prove it in a logical manner. Clear educators can explain anything in layman's terms. For example, A Brief History of Time. Stephen Hawking can explain technical stuff clearly even thought he can't move. You've got the knowledge, just present it differently.

This is fantastic news. Flylady is brilliant and reaches millions of people. She is so encouraging and recommends people change their lives using 'baby steps'. She does have a tendency to bombard your inbox with e-mails but she can't be beaten for drip feed effect (or maybe it is nagging) but once she gets hold of an idea she goes for it. So expect plenty of newbies!!

Hole cow. That woman is in everyone's living room. This is very good news. Or it could be. Congrats to Dr. K!

Have to agree though that Dr. K's site might not be the best intro. It's far more specialized and too much so for many. But as they say, no such thing as bad publicity.

you all have jumped to some major conclusions....its very early in the evolution of what I am trying to accomplish. Im fine with the laughing at my expense. When Change occurs ridicule usually follows. You will never gain the acceptance into my profession you seek until you understand how they think and what motivates them to change. I have successfully done this in my sphere of influence. Now I want to share how i did it so you can all change the rest of physicians who frustrate you. The paleo movement is really about taking control back of healthcare.

No one has tackled how to take it mainstream. Well, that is the reason I did jump in. You may not like my speak, my grammar, my approach or many other things. But I will share with you my thoughts. Then you have a choice. Think about it, reject it, riducule me, or adapt and become a force of change in your own sphere of influence. Paleo folsk have already made the large step of regaining their power over healthcare decisions. the rest of the world has not. Open your minds up to the reality. If mainstream acceptance is what you want, then think about how to effect that change first.

You're most definitely not the first clinician seeing patients putting it all out there.

Robb and mark are doing their work to help......I want to do my part. I'm the first clinician seeing patients putting it all out there. I live it, practice that way and now I'm talking about it. Good bad or indifferently with bad spelling grammar and shitty editing. But I am. Not going away.
