I used to be realy gassy, bloated and constipated before paleo, but there was a period when it all stopped. With no mayor changes in my diet, the symptoms are back again. I've also gained some weight. I get this uncontrollable hunger sometimes, and sometimes i'm not hungry at all for very long periods of time.
I am strict paleo, but indulge in cheese ocasionally. I don't eat fruits, but nuts are a base in my diet because my family is not paleo, so the only available snack i have are almonds.
I was diagnosed with low-enzyme production, and am currently under naturist medication (read the labels, and no chemicals or weird products in them).
I've tried ruling out the nuts, but saw no mayor changes. I have started drinking warm water with lemon in the mornings, since i read it's de-bloating, but no changes so far.
Also, I'm in amenorrhea right now,and taking medication for that too but nothing has changed. Last time I had my period was January, and it was really short. Last time i had a REAL period was July last year, so I guess my lower stomach is also bloated because of this (not really sure what to think anymore)...
Should i try low FODMAPS? I notice i have many of the symptoms, but if I do, that would mean eating almost the same thing everyday, and i don't wanna deal with nutrient deficiencies (again).
Or can it be too much insoluble fiber? I eat lots of veggies, most of them high in fiber; onion, some celery and broccoli, bell peppers, tomatoes, and TONS of salad greens. The problem is, if i eat less veggies i would have to eat more meat (i have a big appetite, btw). When I don't balance my protein-fat-veggie ratio properly, my skin starts going yellow, and I don't think that's a good thing.
I would really appreciate any tips or ideas, as well as personal experiences because that could give me some clues... thanks in advance guys(:

After going Paleo, I discovered that eggs and sour cream (and any soft cheese, really) make me bloated and gassy. I used to eat these but in small quantities due to my fear of cholesterol. Or maybe it was because I had so many other digestive issues (with grains) that I didn't notice. Anyway, you might have an allergy to something Paleo that you didnt eat too much of before and didnt notice. For example, a friend of mine doesn't have the enzyme to digest beef so if he eats it, he gets bloated and feels horrible for several days.
Are you getting enough fuel for your body b/c when I suffered from amenorrhea it was b/c I wasn't eating enough to match my training. I tend to suffer from gas too--i think it's linked to having a messed up, leaky gut. It has gotten better the longer I am on paleo--and cheese really makes me super gasey, even goat cheese. Eggs too.
