Does too much steamed cauliflower cause bloating?

About a month ago I made this cauliflower bacon soup recipe, where I steam a small head of cauliflower, stick it in the blender with coconut milk and chicken broth, and add in bacon and sausage. I'd had it a few times before and I loved the recipe, totally paleo too. But that one time I ate a lot of the soup, and I got really bad bloating, I checked and found that I'd added an inch to my waistline. Was that caused by the steamed cauliflower, eating too much of it, or a combination? I haven't touched this soup since. Eugh, I skipped dinner that night because my stomach still hurt >.< Does anyone else get bloating from steamed cauliflower?

Interesting you can do Kale as it is in the family of brassica (cruciferous) veg - broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, etc. I find it too gassy for me.

That sucks, I love cauliflower and broccoli :( And leafy greens aren't particularly appetizing for me. I've never really had a problem with broccoli though... I think it was just that I ate too much cauliflower.

Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable - they are generally gassy.

They cause problems for me. I've found most veggies do. I now do FODMAPS. Has helped me so much especially in the vegetable department. I stick to leafy greens, kale, spinach, lettuce, collard greens, bean sprouts, occasional green beans and feel great. I ALWAYS got bloated after having broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauli, or other veggies of that nature.

Definitely. I avoid cauliflower because of this.
