Hi All, this is an experiment, not really a question. If it is not acceptable on this website, please delete the thread. I've been suffering from insomnia and IBS for 20 years (I'm 33 now). Maybe I was born with this problem, I don't know. What... (more)
Hi, I have only been doing the Paleo diet for 10 days so I know it's early days. I have horrible bad breath, a grippy painful tummy, terrible stinky farts and a dose of thrush! I have read other posts about Fruits etc but I don't eat much fruit... (more)
I've been making Greek yogurt at home for the past couple of months, it's thick, creamy and delicious, the down side is, it makes me bloated. I want to know if this symptoms will go away with time, if I continue eating it. Thanks, Love to all (more)
I follow a pretty clean, Primal diet. Lately i've been getting bloated after every meal. It's uncomfortable to say the least. Does anybody know what could be going on? How to treat it and prevent it? Thanks, Love to all
About a month ago I made this cauliflower bacon soup recipe, where I steam a small head of cauliflower, stick it in the blender with coconut milk and chicken broth, and add in bacon and sausage. I'd had it a few times before and I loved the... (more)
Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable - they are generally gassy.
Maybe it is okay for other people, but I made a dessert with one and one half tablespoons of coconut flour. I was incredibly bloated afterwords, and nothing left my system for two days. Someone mentioned coconut flour is the most dense form of... (more)
Yes. Steamed cabbage is a guaranteed bloat for me. Don't steam it, cooked the crap out of it in a soup, cut it in half and roast it in the oven, or pickle it like sauerkraut.
If I am hungry or want something sweet like dessert I will have a Tbls. of Manna Cocunut Butter. (Probably 2 to 3 times a day). It is very satisfying but could this cause bloating? Thanks.
It could. Google FODMAPa...

the best advice i ever got from a doctor on this subject (and believe me, there were many) was this: "you just have to commit to making the time to poop." then he went on to tell me how his bowels are normal only if he wakes up early, drinks his... (more)

I have eliminated potatoes and feel much better! I am now eating fruit and feel energized and light. Thanks to all for helping me reach this conclusion. Sometimes it is better not to know the science behind our bodies and just eat what seems to... (more)
I've been looking into FODMAP issues, and I've decided that this may possibly be an indicator for me, and I printed out the chart, but I'd like to get some perspective on how to begin on trying this. My boyfriend is big onion kind of guy, he put... (more)
You don't have to avoid that onion flavor. FODMAPs are not oil-soluble, so just steep onions or garlic in bottles of olive oil, and use the oil when you cook. You get the flavor without the FODMAPs.
Hi there, I make my own goat kefir. Last night for the first time I strained it once it was ready, removing about a cup of liquid. Then I drank about a quarter cup before bed. I felt trapped gas all night, had a terrible sleep. Wondering if... (more)

Just too much fat too fast for your system, I imagine. Try ramping up the fat more slowly. Also, Google FODMAPS. If you are FODMAPS-intolerant, it could be a factor. Avocados are on the list & I cannot digest them well.
Ok, so I started paleo about a month ago. I've been pretty good about it so far. The first "cheat" meal I had was an anniversary dinner about two and a half weeks in, but it was still very minimal cheating. As in, I had a bite of my boyfriend's... (more)
I've searched the Internet and through PaleoHacks sights to find an answer for my issue, but unfortunately have found conflicting information and found that most people with my issues are the result of gluten. This is not my case as I have... (more)
I have never had any gut problems or food intolerances. However, I did adopt a pretty clean paleo diet about a year or so ago. This has really leveled out blood sugar issues with much improved sleep/energy. Problem is, with the onset of cherry... (more)
Why is it that I can eat cucumber, but even eating 1/2 a Bubbie's pickle gives me painful gas? Is it (a) the increased probiotics (even though other sources of probiotics don't bug me, like kefir), or (b) the fact that the brine contains garlic... (more)
