Sorry guys this is kinda a ladies only question :P
I've been paleo/primal for roughly a year, have seen some weight loss but yeah I'm about a dress size large 8/10. I've had lots of issues with my period, had a couple of uti's last year (just down to not going to the loo after certain things) but mainly I get breakthrough bleeding. Like, every month. I upped my Estrogen Pills from the lowest possible (AVA30) to BREVINOR-1 which is specifically to stop breakthrough bleeding. But every single month I get one 2-3 day long period in the middle of my pills, and one during the sugar pills which again only lasts 2-3 days. I'm 17, still have some hormonal stuff going on, but I feel like dropping the excess hormones i'm putting into my body would just help to equalize a lot of the mood/body weight fluctuations/extra little niggles I still face when eating a real food diet.

In most cases, some heavy bleeding once or twice a month is going to be better than an unplanned teen pregnancy. If you aren't sexually active then tell this to your doctor and tell him you want off birth control, as long as he approves (I don't see why he wouldn't) I don't see any problem with getting off BC.
