Ok I have been asking A LOT but you guys have been very helpfuls.

15, 5'7", 107 pounds, no period since 13

workout 20-30 mins hiit/intervals 30-1.5 hours lifting 5 days a week

Lately I have been overeating, but only on paleo foods. Delicious sad foods are around the house, but I dont want them, I just want meat, fruit, nuts, and veggies. I ate almost a whole case of chicken breast, a whole thing of walnut butter, 2.5 apples, probably around 1.5-2 cups blueberries most of a small sweet potato, and a can of sardines. I was dying of hunger when I got home, but i had a good breakfast?

i had; 1 can sardines in olive oil, 1 egg, mushrooms, mini bell peppers, onion, scallion, and baby spinach, sauteed in spray.

i keep overeating after school, and always feel so hungry. i have been eating 1000-1400 cals daily with that exercise, and less than 1000 usually on weekends. Finally when it started effecting my school (too weak to even do hw) i realized enough was enough. i was too weak to hang out w/ friends and dreaded working out, always felt sore and weak and tired and faint.

i did this yesterday too, but less nut butter and more fish/meat. i felt great for my workout, but was overly full. today i felt plain sick. i felt fine until the sardines, i think i got a bad can b/c i was fine until i ate those. but i am sick of this cycle of overeat/undereat. i want to be HEALTHY and happy and eat balanced! i couldnt even workout b/c i got like food poisoning, and i REALLY REALLY wanted to workout today and i feel horrible D:

could these binges be my body crying out for nutrients? as soon as i ate the potato i no longer wanted anymore food, except for berries. perhaps low carb is not for me as well?

i dont want to count anymore, but sometimes idk what to eat to balance everything. i want to eat healthy and balanced. could someone give me an example of a healthy balanced day?

Oatmeal is eaten after a workout because I can't eat much that would replenish glycogen fast enough & keep me satisfied (allergic to yolks amongst other foods) & egg whites are pure protein so my blood sugar stays stable. The rest of my meals for the day are paleo.

Sure it's OK! Hunger is a sign that your body is functioning normally.

Fine not to eat after food poisoning, but if you do feel hungry, try some yoghurt or kefir to soothe your stomach/help with good gut flora.

I wouldn't call it a binge, based on the history you have shared here. You have been severely malnourished and your body is crying out for fat, calories, magnesium, zinc, etc...all provided by the foods you ate.

If you can find affordable free range chicken, then by all means eat the fat & skin!

But really what I had wasnt a binge? I mean probably had 4 cups of walnuts (why did i make it into butter lol!) a whole case of chicken breast (2 lbs raw?) plus 2.5 apples, 2 cups(?) blueberries, almost a whole bag of baby carrots (forget them), about 50 cals of guacamole, and a can of sardines in olive oil. What worries me is all the cals from the nuts.

Oh yes of course! Chicken fat is NASTY! haha! Unless it's the whole chicken, then sometimes the skin is too yummy to resist, but that's rare treat.

Of course! You may want to trim off the fat to avoid antibiotic residue/excess Omega 6 and add in some coconut oil instead.

I dont go to normal highschool, i go to a sport school where the kids train 4 + hours a day, and i can only go to the school portion because i was injured last year doing basketball, which when i gained up to 157 pounds. so it makes me feel like my puny 1.5-2 hour a day training sessions are miniscule, especially since im sitting the rest of the day. Ive told my parents that i want help, but i guess we cant so.

I want a nutritionist who will accept my paleo diet, but insurance wont cover a nutritionist and we simply can't afford it. i know in reality it would be best for me to seek a pro, but money is a huge issue. i have to do this myself. and i am willing. i just need foundation.

@SuzyQ - Your answer is sensible and clearly well intentioned, but "*My fav breakfast after workout in AM is 3 egg whites mixed with GF oatmeal, maple syrup, rice milk or water, raisins, cinnamon & tsp coconut oil*" doesn't really seem like a paleo breakfast does it? Egg whites instead of whole eggs, oatmeal (gf, but still a grain), rice milk (grain), and raisins and maple syrup (added sugar). You must do what works for you, and I'm glad that that does, but that's pretty much a very well put together, but otherwise SAD breakfast.

Yup. Your body is finally getting what it needs.

Focus on nutrient-dense foods like grass-fed beef and lamb, liver, eggs, oysters, salmon/sardines/mackerel, hard cheese, dark leafy greens, sweet potatoes, avocado, berries....don't skimp on the fat!

Eat when hungry & relax! You are replenishing nutrients and your hunger will subside once you are replete. This could take a few months. You are not over-eating for a normal 15 year old! I used to eat 5 full meals a day and was still hungry at your age (high metabolism)

Stop counting calories, please! And definitely eat as many carbs as you want.

And drop your workouts to 3 days a week. Your body needs time to repair itself and rest.

I hope you can find a counselor/therapists to help you with the emotional aspects of your ED--you deserve more support than you can get on an Internet forum!

Zombers, I don't want to assume anything, but your posts have seemed like you're in need of some personal help on this. The Internet can be a powerful tool and a confusing paradox of info. Can you talk to a HS trainer/nutritionist/counselor or even just your doctor? Tell them that you ARE going to follow paleo, but that you need a smart training/RESTING/eating schedule. Gotta try to let those over eating sessions go and focus on lifelong health. Good luck!

try eating apples or having Apple Cider Vinegar

i tried apple cider vinegar having a spoon and water

i thought it was just me no longer interested in sugar and getting even more hungry with food and cravings

turns out ACV has pectin thats an enzyme that stops your sugar cravings and im no longer getting hungry to the point where i have to force myself to eat

I've also had been taking unpasturized organic honey, it does help balance the sugar in the body and plus live healthy enzymes and vitamins. it does also stop my cravings kicking in.

You're not eating enough and I assume you want to maintain your weight although I think you should be at least 10 lbs more. You're weak b/c you're underfed. You need at least 1600-1800 cal on days you workout in order to replace the glycogen you use up (protein, veggies & yam or potato) afterwards. Make sure you eat lots of veggies w/protein to help digestion. Pineapple is very good to help digest meat.

Not sure I read your post right - Are you weight training 5x/wk? If so, this might be too much. 2x/wk is good and the other 3 days do light cardio.

My fav breakfast after workout in AM is 3 egg whites mixed with GF oatmeal, maple syrup, rice milk or water, raisins, cinnamon & tsp coconut oil.

Add more fat too - avocados, coconut milk/oil, nut butters (gr8 w/celery or broccoli stalks).
