Sprouts has Organic Grass-fed ground beef for $3.99/#. Good deal?

I try to stock up when I see Grass-Fed on sale. $3.99 seems like a smokin' good deal since it's usually at least $5.99 around here in SoCal. From Uruguay. Grass-finished. Not frozen. Ground in store. 'Oregon Tilt' organic certification. My first thought is 'how much room do I have in the freezer'?

Does anyone get Organic Grass-Fed for less?

Sale runs all week.

OK, it's the lean stuff which normally goes for about $8/# (I actually like the 85/15 better). We cooked some up tonight and it was pretty damn tasty. I'm getting more tomorrow.

I called and the butcher told me it was grass finished. I'm having him coarse grind 8#, regular grind 8# and leave the last 8# as chuck roasts. If it fits in my freezer I'll go back for more.

Is it grass-fed or grass-finished?

Sometimes I can't even get CAFO ground beef for that price! Load up!

Indeed, great price! At our local Sprouts it tends to run $4.10/lb, and that's the cheapest I've ever seen grass-fed ground beef. However, my local rancher sells grass fed ground beef at $4.80/lb, so I pay the extra 70 cents for something local, but still--fantastic price!

Best price I've had for grass fed meat purchased at a grocery store was when Whole Foods had their grass fed ground beef on sale for $4.99 a pound ;D seems good to me! As others have said, sometimes the regular meat isn't much lower than $3.99 a pound...

That is much cheaper than the CAFO ground beef in the 5 lbs pack around here. I say it is time to do this:
