Any Paleo Remedies To Repel Bed Bugs and Heal Bites?

An apartment on the floor below us became infested and the building management did not inform people. I have 8 ugly hard red welts (itchiness has subsided but they look like dark red hard zits) and found and captured 2 bed bugs crawling near the kitchen. The building super said management mismanaged the infestation and should have immediately notified the whole building -- the spread so far is 8 floors! There are 30 floors here and the bugs travel easily via elevator, pipes, etc. We've called our own bed bug exterminator to treat and seal our apartment but he isn't coming until Saturday. In the interim, I am terrified of more of these bites as they are so dark red and look like they will scar. Any paleo tips to repel the biting -- my lucky hubby is a non-reactor and does not get the welts -- about half the population does not react to the bites. Like with dust mites -- I have zero reaction, but a cousin gets extremely ill when exposed. Any thoughts or help would be so appreciated. I react to mosquito bites too -- these look like that but are very red even after the itching subsided. Help? Also, any thoughts on how to get these hard red welts to heal faster? They are raised and dark red. I believe in blood letting to reduce ferritin but NOT this way.

I did this with a yellow sac spider infestation I had in an old apartment. Diatomaceous Earth and Boric Acid in every nook and cranny. Under applicances, in every crack, around all the windows. under my door. Also, live catch sticky traps where ever I could. It took a while, but after two weeks, I rarely saw a spider...

Plastic and duct tape to seal your mattresses in.

The most paleo way to eliminate bedbugs is heat or cold. They die if you put your mattress outside when it's freezing. Also, you can hire a company to super-heat your place for a very high fee. Other methods are fairly effective, but not 100%. And pesticides suck :)

Diatomaceous Earth will be helpful in protecting your apartment, be sure to use food grade. Sprinkle it all around baseboards and anywhere they might crawl using a mask to protect your airway. http://wolfcreekranch1.tripod.com/defaq.html http://www.bedbuginfo.com/using-diatomaceous-earth-to-kill-bed-bugs.php

Clean, clean clean!!!

Section off what ever you clean (make sure you get every single little part, of a chair for example. They Love wood. If its wood and close to were you sleep, eat etc. They will find there way there. Once you are sure you cleaned say your bed, pull it away from the wall and put Diatomaceous Earth around the bed posts. Make sure you get everything!!

Bed bugs need to fed to move onto the next stage, and do not lay eggs until the last stage. (I believe its 4 but my memory could be off) so every single one you kill is a step in the right direction.

When I had them my apartment was sprayed 4 times and did nothing, when I took the initiative myself and cleaned/killed/cleaned/killed I removed them in about a week or so completely.

I would even go as far as putting Diatomaceous Earth in the cracks of your bed frame for example especially if it is wood. Don't be afraid to section off your room and and living room etc. Put the stuff on the floor and make a grid pattern if you have too.

If you have pets you may want to get someone else to look after them with this stuff all over the place. But you can kill them all, I did.

The real paleo remedy would be to not sleep in the same spot every night your whole life.
