Whats the most you've ever spent on a pound of bacon?

In order to support a new local business (and use the 20% off coupon) I bought 50$ of bacon and salami. Both amazing of course, from well fed happy pigs. I'm eating it now and still thinking I prefer Beelers flavor. Probably barley a step up from factory farmed... So I paid 22$ a pound for the bacon and 30$ a pound for the salami, that is hiding way in the back of the frige from the kids. How could one truly maintain these standards? Just curious how much others have spent on some truly amazing bacon?

Hmm, Beelers uses soybean meal. It isn't worth the price, in my opinion.

Locally raised/cured for about $8.

Bought some online once for about $40 a pound (8oz for $20 shipped). Supposed to be super tasty flavored, hand made, real wood smoked, blah blah blah. Not impressed.

I'll take my local stuff any day.

I paid 5.99 a pound for pastured bacon from Scotch Mountain Meats. Most I've ever paid was 13.99 a pound at the St.Lawerence Market.

This is one more reason why I don't eat a lot of bacon.

I think that seems a little high... US Wellness has their sugar free compassionate raised pork bacon for $11 per pound... that's the most I've ever paid: US Wellness Meats

Wow. I thought I was nuts for paying about $15 for some uncured stuff.
