I have a macbook. There is no right click. I have to press 2 (two!) buttons in order to get a new tab to open. I know it's miniscule, but I figure if there is a way to make things easier, why not do it?

Really? THIS is what you worry about? Right click and get your panties unwadded.

That's what I do, but it should just be automatic like with every other functional, popular site.

you can also get extensions for chrome that allow you to set, by site, whether a link opens in a new window, new tab, new background tab, etc.

Or click links with your scroll wheel. (opens in a new tab)

Ctrl-click or middle-click will open a new tab.

Right click a link.

1 Open link 2 Open Link in new tab 3 Open link in new window

2 or 3 will give you what you need.

Truth.

Buy a Mac and hit the CMD button before you hit the link? (I know that Steve Jobs was a raw-food vegan but I don't think this anti-paloness pervades his products).

Don't know if this works on a mac, but whether clicking new links stays in the same window or opens a new tab is something I control in the page setup menu.
