Eating one avocado for a meal

I love avocadoes. I'm wondering if:

1) it's OK to eat one whole avocado just as a meal (maybe add a bit of salt!)

2) If I eat two or three avocadoes in a week (or per week). Is two too many? Is three?

I just don't want to overdo it.

Are you serious??? One whole avocado? I eat like 2-3 avocados a day and I feel great. What would you be overdoing?

An avocado sounds more like a snack than a meal, though they can be incredibly filling. My one concern is the PUFA's but if your overall diet is low in PUFA and O6 than I don't see the harm. If you eat a chicken thigh and a bunch of almonds that same day you're getting too much O6 for my liking.

I would happily eat a whole avocado in a day and easily get through 2-3 a week. I can't say it's ever really worried me. People will talk about their O6 content but I tend to combine them with oily fish for breakfast anyway, so I'm not concerned.

For a whole meal, though? That's just not very much food. As part of a meal maybe!

i think it's fine. i personally limit my fiber intake so i don't eat avocados at all since they are loaded with it. if i wasn't concerned about fiber, i'd eat one a day because they taste AWESOME.

I've been going out of my way to eat one avacado a day so I can't say that it is too much. As far as making up a meal, the average avacado is probably 250-300 calories so you have to know your caloric needs.
