Recovering and sudden intolerances/allergies

So basically I am currently coming off meds for a form of brain tumour (non-cancerous but messed with my pituituary gland) just to 'see how I go'. I also found I am gluten-intolerant and don't do well with dairy. This is when I found paleo and decided to start eating healthier to help me stay off the meds (and kick this thing in the butt for good).

But here is the thing, my body keeps suddenly not liking things, today is avocado, my throat itched and swelled a little followed by stomach pains. I'm not entirely sure about eggs (the never really fill me and sometimes I feel bloated) and tomatoes sometimes give me pain too, though other days I can eat as many as I like!

Would the AIP be worth giving a go for someone like me? I have read a little on one site but they talked about it as if it would only help people with longer standing issues.

I have a lot of food allergies and intolerances. Some show up within an hour of eating that food, others show up 2-3 days later. My suggestion is for you to eliminate all for at least 30 days or until your symptoms all go away then reintroduce each food one at a time. I had severe dermatitis but wasn't sure if it was caused by seafood, gluten, eggs, nuts or nightshades. After eliminating all of them for 2-3 months, I was able to eat some of them again but in small quantities (I.e., one egg per week and just a little bit of salsa once in a while). Almonds always break me now out so i no longer eat them (even though i used to eat a handful for breakfast every morning for years without any problems). Hope that helps.

I would check for dysbiosis / other GI issues. Not sure what medications you were taking, but they could change your gut flora. Have you tried probiotics or fermented foods? If you get reaction from fermented foods, it means you have pathogenic flora present.

Good luck!
