After receiving a monthly newsletter from MediBank Private promoting a yummy chocolate chili mousse recipe that is low-fat and has 13 teaspoons of sugar per serve and copyrighted by Nestle I have decided to give them the flick.
They have frequently sent me bad advice in the newsletters this was the final straw.
Can anyone else recommend a good private health insurance provider in Australia for a young healthy male that follows the Paleo diet? This is just talking in general, I only ever claim on chiro's, physios etc and need the hospital and ambulance cover.
Anyone got some good alternatives that have worked for them?

Hi Jay. I can't recommend an insurer that has a paleo leaning (I doubt one exists), but I do recall recently seeing the results of a huge customer satisfaction survey that covered members of every open-to-the-general-public health insurer in Australia (there's about thirty, from memory).
The very obvious trend was - the smaller the insurer, the happier the customers. People rated the smaller insurers very highly, and tended to keep their cover with the same small insurer for many years or decades, rather than churning between, say, HBF, NIB, Medibank, etc.
I guess it's similar to banking with One of the big four - sure, you get a wide range of services and lots of bank branches, but you'll pay through the nose for them and get sh*tty customer service if you ever have a problem. I stick to credit unions for that reason, they really do appreciate having my custom.
