Has anyone tried atiso tea (artichoke tea)? I started drinking this tea while in the highlands of Vietnam near Dalat a number of years ago. From an aesthetic point of taste I quite enjoy it. Is anyone aware of any benefits from a functional point of view or conversely aware of precautions with its use?

I haven't had it before, but it sounds good. How did it make you feel? Is it a stimulant? Twice now my husband and I have eaten artichokes and it felt like we had caffeine despite having none. So maybe it would be a good alternative to coffee?

There are a bunch of claims about the positive effects of artichokes online, like supporting liver and whatnot, but I don't know of any reputable resources for it.

There's a bunch of interesting results for the effects of artichokes on pubmed.
