betaine HCL cause an increase in appetite?

has anyone experienced an increased appetite after supplementing with HCL? i feel like it's been a very useful supplement for me as i believe i messed up my stomach acid with neurotic eating habits, antacids, and bulimia about four months ago. since i started supplementing it, i don't feel so bloated after meals and i think my food is digesting faster. however, i also feel like i want to eat more now!

i am wondering if my body is craving nutrients it hasn't been able to extract in the past due to low stomach acid. i only switched to a high fat paleo diet (from a low meat, higher carb diet) a month ago and have been using HCL for about two weeks.

in any case, it feels right to eat as much as i am, and so i am just going with it for now.

I think so too! and we associate hunger with feeling of being full, also people eat even though they are not hungry and usually the hunger you feel is psychological hunger vs physiological hunger. also sometimes confusing dehydration. I also read that you don't experience "true" hunger unless you have eaten for weeks. We have an overabundance of food constantly within reach, we have gotten used to this, so you go on a few hours and you are "Starving" when really you are just craving or bored..

i suppose it could be that food is just passing through more quickly and leaving room for additional food...and there is less bloating

I have noticed it increases my appetite too. I am not sure why, but I am guessing because the food is being digested properly leaving very little hanging out in your stomach?
